Grievance Redressal Cell - Profile

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL
 
Grievance redressal cell has been established in the year 2006 as per the guidelines of UGC.There is an institutional mechanism established in the college to address the grievances.
Constitution of Grievance Cell is as follows:
1. The Principal (Chairperson)
2. Two members from teaching staff (one male and one female)
3. Two members from non-teaching staff (one male and one female)
4. One nominee from NGOs (Woman candidate)
5. Alumni nominee
6. Two students representatives (one male and one female)
 
Types of Grievance
 
  1. Family problems
  2. Personal problems
  3. Eve teasing and ragging cases
  4. Sexual harassment
  5. Procedure for lodging complaint:
 The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing and drop it in boxes
 The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
 The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.
 
Functions of grievance cell:
 
 to provide a neutral, confidential and supportive environment for the students as well as the employees of the college
 To advice complainants of the informal and formal means of resolution as specified
 To ensure the fair and timely resolution of sexual harassment complaints
 To provide information regarding counselling and support services on the campus
 To ensure that students, faculty and staff are provided with current and comprehensive materials on sexual harassment and assault
 To promote awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a respectful and safe campus environment.
