HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
N.S.P.R. Govt. Degree College for Women, Hindupur was started in 1987, Vide. Reference G.O.Ms.No.311, Dated: 11-12-1987, with strength of 52 students. This is the only Women’s college in Government Sector in the previous united Anantapur district, outside the district head quarters and the only Government Women’s Degree College in present new Sri Satya Sai district. Since the inception in 1987 to 2006, the college functioned on shift system in the local M.G.M. High School building. The college is shifted to present site in 2006 with has extent of one acre. The College Development Committee Chairman Sri. N. Dasaratha Ramaiah donated Rs.3.00 Lakhs as Corpus Fund, and also donated land for the construction of college building. Sri. P. Ramakrishna Reddy, was the first Principal (FAC) from16-09-1987 to 01-04-1988. Mrs. C. Sarojini Devi, served as the first regular Principal from 1988 to1991.
