Profile of the Department
The Department of English has been an integral part of NSPR Government Degree College for Women since its inception in 1987. Over the years, it has diligently conducted English language classes for various programs like B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., aligning with the University's curriculum. The department's strength lies in its commitment in adopting the teaching methodologies that are compatible with the standards of the stake holders of the college and incorporating the latest available tools of teaching in higher education that facilitate the learning of language an easier task.
Faculty members not only focus on traditional classroom teaching but also guide students in exploring various online educational resources to make their screen time constructive. Emphasizing the importance of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills, the department employs interactive teaching methods to ensure effective learning. Since the adoption of the Choice Based Credit System in 2015- 2016, English language courses have become an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum.
Moreover, the department extends its expertise beyond the college premises, actively participating in the preparation and distribution of varied material related to allied knowledge for the career building of students emphasizing the importance of English Language Skills to make them employable in the Globalized World.
