N.S.P.R Govt. Degree College for Women, Hindupur was started in 1987, Vide. Reference G.O.Ms.No.311, Dated:11-12-1987, with strength of 52 students. This is the only Women's college in Government Sector in Sri Satyasai Dist. Since the inception in 1987 to 2006, the college functioned on shift system in the local M.G.M High School building. The college is shifted to present site in 2006. The College Development Committee Chairman Sri. N.Dasaratha Ramaiah donated Rs.3.00 Lakhs as Corpus Fund. Sri. P.Ramakrishna Reddy, was the first Principal (FAC) from 16-09-1987 to 01-04-1988. Mrs. C.Sarojini Devi, served as the first regular Principal from 1988 to 1991.
