The department was established in 1987 in order to provide high quality education for women students and to explore the recent advances in innovative teaching learning methods for the effective teaching. The department is having qualified and dedicated teaching staff who are working for the overall development of women students. We are committed to help students to learn, understand, interpret, analyze and apply a variety of Physical concepts in under graduate education. The department designs the curriculum to foster the skills necessary for career development and lifelong learning in a rapidly changing global environment. The curriculum of B.Sc. Physics is framed using popular international standard text books so that this curriculum is on par with the curriculum of all universities in the state. Emphasis was given on skill based learning, developing logical thinking, application of physics and learning physics meaningful and fruitful. As a part of teaching learning process some topics of physics are incorporated to increase student’s participation in learning. Emphasis was also given on innovative teaching methods. From 2015-16 a new programme M.P.Cs was introduced with Mathematics,
